The planned release of “Assassin’s Creed Jade” for mobile devices has been delayed until 2025, after previously being released in 2024. This delay occurred because Tencent moved a number of their employees to focus on developing a new original game called “DreamStar”.
Tencent is currently giving more priority to game projects that use their own intellectual property rather than game adaptations of major franchises such as “Assassin’s Creed“.
They made this decision because the profit they make from franchise adaptations is smaller than that of their own games.
New Spin-off of the “Assassin’s Creed” Franchise
Assassin’s Creed Jade is a spin-off game of the “Assassin’s Creed” series designed specifically for mobile devices. The game is set in ancient China. The development of this game has been going on for at least four years.
This game is the only one from the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise that will be released exclusively for mobile devices. Level Infinite and also Ubisoft will work together to develop this game and will present epic gameplay.
Previously, Ubisoft had spilled some secrets about the story and gameplay for this one. They revealed that players will have an adventure exploring Ancient China in 215 BC.
The gameplay is right between the events of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Odyssey. You’ll play as Xia, the adopted son of emperor Wei Yu. The game is packed with combat, ranged attacks with bows, and more.
With a background rich in history and culture, this game is expected to provide an immersive experience to its players. The game will reportedly be released for Android and iOS.
In addition to “Assassin’s Creed Jade”, the “Assassin’s Creed” franchise will also have another new game, “Assassin’s Creed Codename Red” which is scheduled to be released at the end of March 2025.
