Suikoden: The Anime, an anime adaptation of the classic JRPG game series, primarily Suikoden II, will air in 2026. The series is produced by Konami Animation, which separated from Konami in February 2024.
Konami’s internal studios not only provide access to the technology and knowledge accumulated over years of game production, but also give developers greater creative control over the adaptation of their work.
An Overview of the Suikoden Anime Adaptation

Suikoden: The Anime is a TV series adapted from the Suikoden II game, which will air in 2026. KONAMI Animation will produce this adaptation with director Yuzo Sato. The anime focuses on the protagonists Jowy and Nanami and depicts the large-scale battles that are characteristic of the series.
This anime adaptation is part of Konami’s revitalization of the Suikoden series, which aims to introduce the classic game to new fans and bring back old players after the release of Suikoden 1 & 2 HD Remaster.
This anime has also released key art and main characters with famous voice actors, including:
- Released by Toshiki Kumagai
- Jowy by Shinba Tsuchiya
- Nanami by Ayumi Hinohara
- Viktor by Katsuyuki Konishi
- Flik by Yuichi Nakamura
Naito confirmed that Konami is working on the Suikoden anime directly, unlike usual projects that involve external studios as producers, where the IP owner only acts as a supervisor.
Suikoden: The Anime combines the expertise of professional anime staff and game development teams. Sakiyama and his colleagues are not only supervisors, but are also directly involved in production to express the greatness of the game through anime.
The anime creators chose to focus on the storytelling strengths of the Suikoden franchise, primarily using Suikoden II (1998) as a basis. They packaged the core story in an interesting and easy-to-understand way, so that it could be enjoyed by both old fans and newcomers alike.
