After previously sharing its first gameplay, Deep Silver has just shared the latest 14-minute Dead Island 2 Gameplay. Dead Island 2 itself was introduced at the Gamescom 2022 event and immediately announced a release date in 2023.

Dead Island 2 is a sequel to the game that was released in 2011. The game was featured at Gamescom 2014 and got the spotlight of the stage. But due to internal problems between the developer and publisher, the game disappeared from public news.

Dead Island will have both solo and co-op modes for up to 3 players simultaneously. The development of this sequel to Dead Island is one example of the development hell stage which is often a major problem in game development.

Showing off a New, More Epic Gameplay

Titled ‘Extended Gameplay Reveal’, the developers showed us the latest details about Dead Island 2, such as the various old game mechanics that have returned and the new ones that have been added.

The focus is on the more brutal gore effects with all the organs destroyed with sledgehammer blows. The combat mechanics are also more fluid, and the vibe of the game is more vibrant than the first Dead Island.

A 14-minute video of Dead Island 2 showing the game’s various mechanics suggests Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios are ready to release Dead Island on schedule.

Dead Island 2 Release Schedule

Through the official Dead Island twitter account, Dambuster Studios officially announced that Dead island 2 got a new schedule from before. Which is currently the game will be released one week earlier, precisely on April 21, 2023.

The developer also officially announced that the game has received the title “gold”. This means that the development process has been completed and is ready to enter the distribution stage.

This is certainly good news for fans, especially those who have been faithfully waiting for almost a decade since the initial release of the game in 2014.

Dead Island 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC via the Epic Game Store.
