Dead Island 2 is a sequel to the game that was released in 2011. The game was featured at Gamescom 2014 and got the spotlight of the stage. But due to internal problems between the developer and publisher, the game disappeared from public news.

Dead Island will have both solo and co-op modes for up to 3 players simultaneously. The development of this sequel to Dead Island is one example of the development hell stage which is often a major problem in game development.

Dead Island 2 New Trailer

This launch trailer gives an overview of the storyline, the characters, and the gameplay. The game revolves around a deadly virus spreading throughout the city of Los Angeles, California, turning its residents into deadly zombies.

With the city in ruins and the military in retreat, the city was immediately quarantined. Players will take on the role of one of six playable characters with their own abilities, personalities and storylines.

Which is told if this character is a survivor with the privilege of being immune from the plague. Not only immune, the protagonist will also learn to control the power of the zombies within him to survive.

Dead Island 2 Release Schedule

Through the official Dead Island twitter account, Dambuster Studios officially announced that Dead island 2 got a new schedule from before. Which is currently the game will be released one week earlier, precisely on April 21, 2023.

The developer also officially announced that the game has received the title “gold”. This means that the development process has been completed and is ready to enter the distribution stage.

This is certainly good news for fans, especially those who have been faithfully waiting for almost a decade since the initial release of the game in 2014.

Dead Island 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC through the Epic Game Store.
