Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially held a special presentation at CES 2025 to discuss the anime adaptation for Ghost of Tsushima. Titled Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, the production of this project has involved direct cooperation with Aniplex.
Aniplex itself is one of the leading entertainment companies in Japan which also happens to be under Sony. In addition, Sony Music will take part in making the soundtrack.
In terms of filming, the anime series “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends” will be worked on by Takanobu Mizuno. He previously succeeded with the anime series “Star Wars: Visions The Duel”. As for the script, it was worked on by Gen Urobuchi who is famous for anime series such as “Psycho-Pass” and also “Fate/Zero”.
Ghost of Tsushima : Legends Anime Concept
If you follow the concept of the game itself, Ghost of Tsushima: Legends has a theme that is more related to Japanese mythology. There are also several characters with different roles such as Samurai, Hunter, Ronin and Assassin.
For this reason, the anime will probably carry a story theme that does not fully feel as realistic as the original Ghost of Tsushima series. There will likely be the involvement of more interesting characters other than Samurai.
Kamikaze Douga will be the main studio handling the production with director Takanobu Mizuno. He will also collaborate with Gen Urobuchi of NITRO PLUS on the screenplay.
They want to be able to realize an anime with a strong cinematic style combined with captivating visuals as part of the appeal of the franchise. For those who are impatient, they must really maintain their expectations, because this anime is still in the early production stages. This anime will later air in 2027 via Crunchyroll.
Until this news is released, there is still no official information regarding the details of the story and the cast lineup that will be present in the anime series “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends”.
For those of you who don’t know, Ghost of Tsushima is an action adventure game created by Sucker Punch Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment. Currently the sequel version, “Ghost of Tsushima: Yotei” is in development and ready for release in 2025.
