There are rumors that Grand Theft Auto VI or GTA 6 will not be released in 2025 and will likely be delayed until 2026.
Recent news indicates that Rockstar may delay the release of GTA 6 until 2026. This may be due to internal issues within the company.
1. GTA 6 development is also lacking
In December last year, Rockstar, the game developer, finally officially announced the GTA 6 game project. Rumors about the continuation of GTA V have been circulating for a long time.
Nonetheless, fans are not giving up and are still looking forward to the game’s arrival until the official announcement in December.
In the announcement, Rockstar provided a lot of information about the new characters that will appear, story developments, and so on. In their game announcement trailer, Rockstar announced that GTA 6 is planned to launch in 2025.
However, the release of this game is threatened with delay to 2026 reportedly for two reasons. Based on a report from Kotaku, GTA 6 game development is experiencing delays in the production process.
The concerns of the executive team at Rockstar arose due to suboptimal progress in the development of the game, and they were worried that the release date of GTA 6 would be compromised.
The report also reveals that internal issues at Rockstar are to blame for the possible delay of GTA 6’s release to 2026.
Based on information from the Bloomberg website, in February, Rockstar had given orders to employees to return to full work in the office.
2. Rockstar Still Trying to Keep GTA 6 Released in 2025, Not 2026
Previously, Rockstar implemented a hybrid work policy with three days in the office and two days at home for its workers.
However, due to slowing game development, confidential data leaks, and other issues that arose, Rockstar executives decided to instruct employees to return to the office completely. However, it seems that Rockstar workers did not agree with the decision.
According to the website Aftermath, Rockstar employees in the UK are rejecting the new rules which they say rob them of their work-life balance.
Rockstar itself is still hoping and trying to launch the GTA 6 game in 2025, but there is a possibility that it will be delayed until 2026.
