Zenless Zone Zero is preparing to welcome Version 2.2, titled “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night,” which will launch on September 4, 2025. This version appears to bring a new atmosphere and different challenges for players.
After successfully foiling the Exaltist conspiracy, the Defense Force sent the Obol Squad to join the chaos. They also introduced new agents Seed and Orphie & Magus.
Together with their allies, the Proxies will learn more about the power struggle in New Eridu and uncover the Obol Squad’s past.

This time, the spotlight is on the arrival of two new agents from the Defense Force. They are Seed and Orphie & Magus, who are members of the elite Obol Squad unit. They are sent to the Waifei Peninsula to eliminate the remaining Exaltist threats and uncover the mysteries hidden within the region.
This Defense Force operation is led by Major General Lorenz and Colonel Isolde, who will command directly in battle. They will heat up the power struggle in the Waifei Peninsula to its climax.
In addition to eradicating the remnants of the Exaltists, the Obol Squad will also uncover long-hidden truths. They will also reveal the mysterious past of one of their members, Seed.
As a genius mechanic, Seed, an Attack Agent with Electric Tier-S attributes, has modified the “Seed Senior” mecha into a formidable companion with tremendous suppression capabilities.
Seed is skilled at working with other Attack Agents to increase the sustained damage dealt by the team.
Seed is one of the fan services for those who “like feet.” This is because her ultimate animation highlights Seed’s foot animation, which seems to be glorified by HoYoverse and looks “amazing” to her fans.
Meanwhile, Orphie & Magus bring deadly laser attacks that strengthen team coordination. Not to be outdone, Bangboo S-Rank Mercury is also present as a unique support tank.
