Rockstar Games has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 or GTA 6 will not be released for the PC version. After fans’ long wait for the sequel to GTA V, Rockstar Games will finally officially release their latest game, GTA 6. Rockstar officially introduced this game through the first teaser trailer which was released a day before the initial schedule as planned last year.
Of course, many game fans can’t wait to play GTA 6, which will be released in 2026. However, Rockstar Games has confirmed that GTA 6 will not be released for the PC version.
GTA 6 to be released for Next Gen Consoles only

According to a report from Chronicles, Rockstar Games plans to launch Grand Theft Auto 6 or GTA 6 only for the new generation of consoles, namely PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. Although GTA 6 won’t be available for PC until 2026, that doesn’t mean Rockstar Games isn’t releasing a PC version of GTA 6 at all. This is similar to what Rockstar Games did when it launched GTA V in 2013.
When it first launched, Rockstar Games’ GTA V was only available for consoles. However, they only added a PC version of GTA V in 2015, two years after the game was first released. Given this pattern, it’s likely that Rockstar Games will only launch GTA 6 for PC in 2027 or 2028. However, this does not mean that Rockstar Games is unlikely to release the game earlier for PC users.
The delay in the release of the PC version of Rockstar Games’ game is due to the need for customization of various aspects of the game. If Rockstar Games were to directly convert from the console version to the PC version, it is expected to cause many bugs and malfunctions, which would certainly ruin the gaming experience.
