During the PlayStation State of Play event, IO Interactive announced the release date for the game 007 First Light, which is an adaptation of the James Bond film franchise.
During the State of Play session, the developers showed gameplay footage from the first mission, in which Bond tails a suspicious hotel employee at a luxury hotel.
As the story unfolds, Bond is seen breaking into a car in pursuit of a specific target, which then leads to an intense shootout.
One of the features that draws attention in this scene is the activation of the “license to kill,” which is activated when the enemy prepares to shoot Bond.
The gameplay features various characteristics of Agent 007, ranging from the use of spy gadgets and diversion tactics to persuading other characters.
Like the Hitman series, players have many options for completing missions. In keeping with the James Bond film tradition, the game is also full of licensed products that appear in various scenes.
007 First Light Release Date
007 First Light will be released less than a year after its announcement, something that rarely happens with modern AAA games.
Game 007 First Light offers an exciting combination. Players will experience action-packed cinematic scenes reminiscent of Uncharted, complete with car chases and battles on speedboats.
In keeping with IO Interactive’s signature style, this game also features Hitman-style open missions. Players are free to determine the best approach to complete their tasks. They can do so through brutal action, stealthy infiltration, or cunning tactics typical of secret agents.

Sony announced that “007 First Light” is scheduled to launch on March 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
