Capcom, Aniplex, and Joycity Corporation have announced the launch of the latest game, Resident Evil Survival Unit on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Until now, details on how this zombie-themed horror game will present itself have been minimal.
In a statement on the game’s official website on Friday, July 4, 2025, that this is a new game project for mobile platforms.
The site only shows a background image depicting a car parked in the middle of the road in a tense rainstorm atmosphere.
On the right side of the image, there is a billboard with the Umbrella Corporation logo. This company is responsible for spreading the T-Virus outbreak that turned the residents of Raccoon City into zombies.

Collaboration with Experienced Strategy Developers
According to rumors, the game is a collaboration between Capcom and two other developers, Aniplex Inc. and Joycity.
Joycity is well known as a successful developer of mobile strategy games. This is evident with its works such as “Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War” which received a 4.4 rating from over 210 thousand reviews on the Google Play Store.
Currently, Joycity is also developing a strategy game titled “Disney Realm Breakers”, which features characters from various Disney intellectual properties.
New Strategies in the World of Resident Evil
Joycity stated in its official release that the game is designed to reach more Resident Evil fans around the world.
They are committed to delivering a unique gaming experience that differs from previous series with a focus on deeper strategy.
In addition, Capcom also emphasized that the development process was done collaboratively with Joycity and Aniplex, with the aim of ensuring that the story and quality remained in line with the standards set by the well-known Resident Evil franchise.
Innovations in the Resident Evil Main Series
Last June, during the Summer Game Fest 2025, Capcom revealed the main title of the upcoming Resident Evil series, “Resident Evil Requiem” (or Resident Evil 9). In this edition, players will be introduced to a new character named Grace Ashcroft.
Interestingly, Resident Evil Requiem offers an unprecedented feature: the option to play in first or third person from the start of the game. With this feature, players get greater freedom and a more intimate gaming experience.
