On April 16, 2025, Sony Interactive Entertainment unequivocally announced news that was not necessarily welcomed with joy by PlayStation fans in Southeast Asia. They announced plans to increase the price of PlayStation Plus subscriptions in the region.
This is news that has caused some confusion for loyal PlayStation users in the Southeast Asia community. The price hike will certainly have an impact on users’ decision to renew their subscription.
This would indicate a significant change in the cost of playing their online games. As loyal fans, they may feel disappointed with this policy.

Sony Interactive Entertainment also notes that “this price change will not apply to current customers until the next billing date that occurs on or after June 24, 2025”.
However, any membership changes that players make on or after April 16, 2025 will immediately bring up the new PlayStation Plus price.
