In an interview with Famitsu with Tekken 8’s development producer, Kohei Ikeda, and marketing producer, Naoya Yasuda, the two staff members were asked about the game’s story mode.

They both stated that due to the much larger budget for this game, Tekken 8’s story mode will be bigger than Tekken 7. Yasuda recalled that when they were told about the budget used for the story mode, he laughed at the number.

Ikeda was also surprised by how much content they had created for the game’s story, especially when considering Tekken 8’s character lineup, which includes at least 32 different fighters.

Since this announcement, many speculations and theories have emerged about the plot and new characters that will appear in Tekken 8. Some fans are even hoping that some of their favorite characters from the previous series will return in this game.

Tekken 8 will be released on January 26, 2024 for multiple platforms such as PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and also Xbox Series X/S.
