Tips for Survival Mode in Minecraft
Below are some survival mode tips that need to be done to play Minecraft.
1. Create a Crafting Table
The first step to take when starting Survival Mode in Minecraft is to create a Crafting Table. To do so, you must collect Wood from the tree by pressing the left mouse button or using the right trigger on the controller.
Collect 16 Wood to create Wood Planks on the Crafting Grid and use 4 Wood Planks to create a Crafting Table, which is the main tool for crafting various important items in Minecraft.
2. Create the First Tool
After having a Crafting Table, make the first tools such as Wooden Pickaxe and Wooden Shovel by making some Sticks from Wood Planks vertically on the Crafting Grid.
Use Sticks and Wood Planks to create tools that help dig and mine crafting materials. After getting Stone, make more powerful Stone Tools.
3. Build a House for Shelter
Base is key in Survival Mode, because without shelter, you’re vulnerable to monster attacks at night. A quick way to build a shelter is to dig into the hillside or ground to create a small space.
Close all sides with blocks to prevent monsters from entering. In addition, you can use the Torch to illuminate the surrounding area and avoid the appearance of monsters.
4. Understand the Concept of Hunger and Collect Food
Manage the hunger meter indicated by the meat icon in the bottom right corner of the screen. The icon decreases when moving, running or jumping, indicating reduced energy. Consume food to replenish the hunger bar.
At the beginning of the game, the main food source is Raw Meat from animals such as cows, pigs and chickens. Cooking meat in the Furnace gives a better effect, so collect Coal for cooking.
5. Create a Bed
Beds are essential in Minecraft for survival, as they allow players to sleep at night and avoid monsters. To create a Bed, 3 Wool and 3 Wood Planks are required, which can be obtained from sheep and trees. Once created, place the Bed in the shelter to set a new respawn point.
6. Use Safe Mining Techniques
When exploring the cave or digging, avoid digging straight down to prevent falls. Use the Staircase or Spiral Staircase technique and always carry Torches for lighting and mark the way to avoid getting lost.
7. Store Items in Crates
Before exploring or mining, store valuables in chests and carry tools, food, and Torches to avoid losing items if you die.
8. Start with a Small Building
Before launching a big project, it’s best to start by developing a smaller structure. This is so you can understand the game mechanics and materials first.
9. Explore and Discover the Village
Search for villages and interact with the locals to get useful items and materials. However, there’s no need to overthink the village at the start of the game. Prioritize gathering resources and understanding the basics first.
10. Backup World
Lastly, make sure to always make backup copies of your world and files. This is to maintain progress in the game and reduce the chances of data loss.
By applying some of the tips above, you’ll be better prepared to face the challenges of Survival Mode in Minecraft.
