Ubisoft Confirms the Arrival of Tom Clancy’s The Division 3

Ubisoft has confirmed that Tom Clancy's The Division 3 is now in development by Massive Entertainment.

Ubisoft has confirmed that Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 is now in development by Massive Entertainment. Ubisoft said that Massive is currently building a team for the third game in the series.

The Swedish studio, which is currently working on Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is the original developer of The Division 1 and 2.

Star Wars Outlaws creative director Julian Gerighty has become executive producer for The Division franchise, which has nearly 40 million players across all titles. Gerighty will now oversee all The Division games and products, including The Division 3.

Development of The Division 3 is still at a very early stage, as Massive Entertainment will be leading the project from Malmö in Sweden. At the moment they are building the team that will make up what we expect to be a new generation of Ubisoft’s third-person cinematic action.

Tom Clancy’s The Division itself first appeared in 2016. The game is set in a future New York City after a virus pandemic, with players tasked with rebuilding Manhattan.

Then Tom Clanc’ys The Division 2 was released in 2019 which was set in a future Washington, DC that players were rebuilding. However, the series failed to replicate the success of its predecessor, and Ubisoft later admitted that The Division 2 had poor sales.

Not Yet Sharing Visual Display

Tom clancy’s the Division 3 announcement didn’t come with any visuals or trailers, but through an article written on Ubisoft’s official website. Julian Gerighty, Creative Director of Star Wars Outlaws and Game Director of The Division 1 and 2, has been appointed by Ubisoft as Executive Producer of The Division series.

The Division 3 is one of the projects Julian Gerighty will be overseeing. He will oversee this game with Massive Entertainment handling it as their two projects are completed.

That’s right, Julian won’t be working on The Division 3 explicitly, but rather overseeing the development of Ubisoft’s new game.

Now, they are gearing up to bring the third installment of the franchise. Will it follow the success of its predecessors? Let’s wait and see.
