Worst Video Games of 2022
This list of games had potential, but were ruined upon release due to various issues. In fact, some of these games were made and published by major developers. So here Dafunda Game has summarized the 2022 Worst Game List with the worst reviews according to Metacritic.
POSTAL 4: No Regerts (PC) – 30/100

This Open-World First-Person-Shooter game is famous for its story elements that focus on Dark Jokes and Satirical comedies that satirize social life in society. The POSTAL 4: No Regerts series is a sequel to the previous game POSTAL 2.
POSTAL 4: No Regrets has actually been in the alpha test period for more than 2 years. However, when released, this game is still not optimal for PC, often crashes, and also still has many bugs and glitches in it.
CrossfireX (Xbox Series X) – 38/100

The game, which was released on February 10, 2022, sank very quickly due to being rated poorly by many parties. In fact, Metacritic gave it a low score of 38/100. Despite being produced by a major developer, CrossfireX was unable to properly implement the multiplayer mode elements.
In addition, the concept carried in this single game is just as bad. Not to mention that there are some bugs or crashes that are quite annoying. This is what makes CrossfireX one of the worst games of 2022 with a score of 38/100.
Babylon’s Fall (PS5) – 41/100

Babylon’s Fall tells the story of the adventures of a Sentinel warrior who has the ambition to reach the top of the Tower of Babylon (Babel). According to Mythology, this tower will be the bridge to Heaven.
Speaking of gameplay, Babylon’s Fall does have many similarities to Final Fantasy XIV. This can happen because this game does borrow many assets from games made by Naoki Yoshida.
The main problem with Babylon’s Fall is the visuals. Many fans have protested that the visuals of this game are very outdated. However, the lack of response from PlatinumGames made many gamers abandon it and get a score of 41/100.
XEL (Switch) – 43/100
This sci-fi action adventure game by Tiny Roar tells the story of Reid who is stranded on a dying space station. Visually, the 3D models in XEL are fairly standard with a variety of enemy and environment designs.
However, the NPCs lack variety, and in some cases there seems to be a bug because the NPCs don’t walk but instead slide. This game received a low score of 43/100.
Arc of Alchemist (Switch) – 46/100
This game shows many elements that make JRPGs made by Compile Heart look quite unique. The story of the game begins as you must explore the desert in search of the key that can save humanity – the Great Power.
The then ruling king also stated that he would send a large-scale investigation team to the Beginnings Desert. This game received a fairly low score of 46/100.
Zorro: The Chronicles (PS5) – 49/100
Released on June 16, 2022, the Zorro The Chronicles game is actually not a bad game. However, gamers mentioned that the developer seemed to make this one game very simple and what it is.
In fact, apart from Microsoft Windows (PC), the game was also released for modern consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The biggest point of criticism in this game is the gameplay mechanics which are very simple and repetitive. This game received a low score of 49/100.
The Last Oricru (Xbox Series X) – 50/100
Developed by Goldknights and published by Prime Matter, it is a story-driven action RPG game that starts badly and then meanders. In this game players will assume the role of an adventurer named “Silver” by the “Keepers” of an unknown monastery.
Overall The Last Oricru is an indie title that reeks of weird decision making. The voice acting, writing is inconsistent and the visuals look very dated. This game gets a low score of 50/100.
The Waylanders (PC) – 51/100
This game carries the concept of an RPG with a European cultural background which today might be a topic that sells well in the market. However, The Waylanders failed to deliver the concept.
Metacritic is quite frontal in giving a rating of 51. The most crucial thing that is criticized in this game is the game mechanics which are quite chaotic. As an RPG game, The Waylanders is still considered too weak in introducing their characters. This game received a score of 51/100 from Metacritic.
Kamiwaza: Way of the Thief (PS4) – 52/100
This game presents a stealth system that is quite unique. You will be given a number indicator to show the estimated position of the guard. Since this game is remastered from the PS2 version of Kamiwaza, some of the moves feel stiff and quite difficult to perform.
Visually, there are not too many special things that we can mention for this game. In addition, the mechanics offered also make the stealth element in this game less relevant. This game received a score of 52/100 from Metacritic.
Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition (Switch) – 52/100
This game is a remaster of the classic 1997 point-and-click game. However, the improved edition promised by this game was filled with many technical problems. Many critics say that the fan-made port is actually better than the remaster made by Night Dive Studios. The game received a score of 52/100 from Metacritic which made it the newest game of 2022.
Those were some of the 2022 game titles that were considered failures and disappointments. What do you think about this list? Does the list of games with big names deserve to be considered bad works this year? Share your comments through the comment section that we have provided.
