Alan Ritchson finally spoke about his conversation with James Gunn regarding his role as Batman in the movie The Brave and the Bold. The film itself will highlight the Dark Knight, who has been around for some time, with the Bat-Family already active in the main DC Studios timeline.
In addition, the story will introduce Damian Wayne, who is Bruce’s biological son and known as Robin. Andy Muschietti is directing this Batman reboot.
Alan Ritchson Won’t Be Batman in the DCU?

In a recent interview with Variety, Ritchson was asked directly about Gunn’s views on Batman, as many fans hope he will get the role in the DCU.
Although Ritchson stated that he had met with Gunn, he provided the following updated information:
Of course, there’s no denying that James Gunn is a fan. He even admits it himself. Am I also a fan of James Gunn? Definitely. I don’t want to give the wrong impression. There has been some talk about Batman. However, I am very confident that Batman will not be part of my future plans. What I do believe is that there will be something involved in my future plans with DC, and I want that to become a reality.
This news must be disappointing for many fans who were hoping to see Ritchson in a black cape in action in Gotham. With his athletic physique and stern face, he could certainly have portrayed a Batman different from previous versions.
However, Ritchson seems to realize that DC has many other characters who might be a better fit for him.
Ritchson has previously played a number of DC superheroes. His appearance in the fifth season of the Smallville series as Arthur Curry (Aquaman) is certainly the most iconic. After that, he joined the Titans and played Hank Hall, until the character died in the third season.
The Brave and the Bold project is currently still in the writing phase. The search for an actor to play Batman in the DCU has certainly not begun yet. DC Studios plans to begin the selection process once the script is complete.
Although it is unlikely that Ritchson will take on an iconic DC role in the franchise Gunn is developing, his latest statement indicates a huge opportunity to bring other important characters to life.
With his skyrocketing popularity, Ritchson’s presence at DC Studios, both as a superhero and an antagonist, will greatly contribute to the future narrative of the DCU.
From his outstanding appeal as an action star to his extraordinary skills as a leading actor, we hope that Gunn will soon find a way to include Ritchson in his project.
