Anya Taylor-Joy will reportedly play an important character in Spider-Man 4, a project that has fans excited.
Daniel Richtman shared this information, but he did not explain what character Taylor-Joy might be playing. Speculation is rife, with many fans hoping that she could play the iconic Black Cat.
Spider-Man 4 itself has officially been scheduled to air on July 26, 2026. The movie will be under the direction of Destin director Daniel Cretton. Cretton previously directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, with a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

No one remembers who Peter Parker is, and in the comics, at least in the early part of the story, Felicia (Black Cat) has absolutely no interest in the man wearing the mask.
Having lost everything, the grieving Spider-Man seems to be choosing a dark path, and Black Cat is bound to take him deeper after successfully influencing him.
Launching comicbookmovie, Spider-Man franchise producer Amy Pascal was asked directly about the Taylor-Joy as Black Cat rumors at a recent press event.
“He will be amazing. She’s great, [but] we haven’t gotten to that stage yet. There are many fantastic female characters, but I can’t talk about all of these.”
Is she feeling awkward or just giving safe answers to rumors that aren’t true? Determining this is quite difficult, but we can try to clarify the situation little by little.
Last weekend, The Cosmic Circus gave another update on the rumors and stated, “I heard that [Gwen Stacy] will be introduced as the new main female character in the trilogy, as Peter starts college and temporarily replaces Zendaya’s MJ, but this information is quite old.”
This isn’t exactly news, but it suggests that star of The New Mutants and Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Anya Taylor-Joy, is being considered to take on the role of Gwen instead of Felicia Hardy.
For many fans, including Spider-Gwen in the lineup feels more logical. However, the character is extremely valuable, and Sony may be reluctant to give Marvel Studios full control. On the other hand, Black Cat is a character who has struggled and failed to make it into a “spin-off” movie over the years.
