Bad Boys Movie Watch Order According to Story Chronology
1. Bad Boys – 1995
The story of detective duo Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) begins in this movie. In the first Bad Boys, they had a 72-hour deadline to find and retrieve $100 million worth of heroin.
If the mission is unsuccessful, Internal Affairs will stop their investigation. For Mike, this drug kingpin case became even more personal as one of his friends had died because of it.
2. Bad Boys 2 – 2003
The next Bad Boys movie sequence is Bad Boys II. This movie was released in 2003, telling the story of Mike and Marcus who currently lead a special team. This time they were given the task of investigating ecstasy drug trafficking in the Miami area.
This leads them to follow in the footsteps of Johnny Tapia, a ruthless drug lord. His drug actions have led to underground conflicts between various drug trafficking groups.
3. L.A.’s Finest – 2019/2020
Next up is L.A.’s Finest. This time it’s not a movie, but a series that is part of the Bad Boys franchise. The story in this series tells the story of Syd, the younger brother of Marcus, who previously worked as a DEA agent and now works in the Robbery-Homicide Division of the LAPD.
Detective Nancy McKenna and her partner Syd, played by Jessica Alba, have managed to solve many criminal cases in Los Angeles through their partnership.
Despite being in the same world as Bad Boys, Mike and Marcus have never appeared in the series which has been running for two seasons.
4. Bad Boys For Life – 2020
In the movie Bad Boys for Life, the story explores Mike’s troubled past. This conflict arises when his ex-girlfriend, Isabel Aretas, sends her son, Armando, to seek revenge and kill everyone involved in his father’s death, including Mike.
In this movie, many secrets are revealed about Mike’s life, including the fact that Armando is actually Mike’s illegitimate son.
5. Bad Boys: Ride or Die – 2024
This June 2024, in the fourth movie, Mike and Marcus will conduct an investigation outside the legal system for the first time. They plan to uncover corruption within their own police department.
Mike and Marcus are trapped and go on the run to launder their reputations and the captain’s alleged involvement in a drug cartel.
