Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson), was supposed to appear in Shazam Fury of the Gods (2023). So why didn’t he appear?
Black Adam as we know, in the comics is the archenemy of Billy Batson aka Shazam. As a result, it’s no wonder then that many of us were very hopeful that the two would meet when a few years ago, the DCEU announced the first film adaptation of Shazam! (2019).
Well, this desire and hope peaked when the DCEU announced and released the first Black Adam film in 2022.

No doubt, this makes us very disappointed. But who would have thought that Black Adam would actually almost appear in Shazam Fury of the Gods?
Almost Performed but Didn’t
Yes, this was revealed through TheDirect recently. So according to reports, Black Adam was originally planned to appear in Shazam Fury of the Gods.
But in the end it didn’t happen. Why is that? So why is The Rock reluctant to do so? Unfortunately, the exact reason is still unknown.
Shazam Fury of the Gods Post-Credit
Well whatever the reason, it’s clear that because of this, an alternate post-credit scene was created. And SPOILERS! The post-credit scene that was created became the first post-credit scene for Shazam Fury of the Gods.
Specifically, it features two characters from The Peacemaker (2022) series, Emilia Harcourt (Jennifer Holland) and John Economos (Steve Agee). Both are assigned by their boss, Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) to meet Shazam (Zachary Levi).
After the two met and interacted with him, John and Emilia offered Shazam to join the superhero team, Justice Society of America (JSA).
