Marvel Studios has continued the casting process for the MCU version of The Fantastic Four, and they have finally found the actor who will play Galactus.
Based on an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, actor Ralph Ineson has been chosen by Marvel to play Galactus in The Fantastic Four movie which is scheduled to be released in 2025. There is no information on whether Ineson will provide the voice for Galactus or will be the actor behind the Galactus costume.
According to a report from Deadline, the British actor officially joins Julia Garner who Marvel previously announced would play Shalla-Bal.
In the main cast, Pedro Pascal will play Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby will play Sue Storm aka The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn will play Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch, and Ebos Moss-Bachrach will play Ben Grimm aka The Thing.
Ralph Ineson has joined the cast of The Fantastic Four, so the roster is now complete. Ineson is set to start filming this season.
Galactus’ abilities as the villain of The Fantastic Four MCU
Marvel Studios put a lot of thought into choosing Ralph Ineson to play the role of Galactus. One such consideration was the heavy and eerie voice that suits Galactus’ image as one of the most ruthless villains in the Marvel universe.
Galactus made his first appearance in Fantastic Four comic book #48 published in March 1966. The character created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby was originally known as Galan, a human from the planet Taa.
When the existing universe was destroyed, Galan united with a cosmic entity called the Sentience of the Universe and then reincarnated as Galactus when the new universe was created.
With incredible power, Galactus has the limitless ability to control cosmic energy. In addition, Galactus can also travel long distances by teleportation and disrupt reality. To survive, Galactus traveled across the universe and searched for edible planets.
Start production this year
This summer, The Fantastic Four is currently in production in the UK. Besides Ralph Ineson, John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser also joined the cast of The Fantastic Four. Their role itself is reportedly still a Marvel secret until now.
The Fantastic Four script is reportedly set in the 1960s, written by Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, Eric Pearson, and Ian Springer.
Meanwhile, as director, Matt Shakman, who has previously worked with Marvel Studios as showrunner of WandaVision (2021), will take over the task.
The Fantastic Four is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 25, 2025. The movie will be part of the list of MCU movies that will hit theaters in the coming year. MCU movies that will hit theaters next year include Blade, Thunderbots, and Captain America: Brave New World.
