Characters Who Could Be Villains in Spider-Man 4 Movie
10. The Prowler
There is a possibility of Miles Morales appearing in the MCU, which could see Peter Parker face a unique villain, The Prowler, in Spider-Man 4. Donald Glover, who played Aaron Davis in Spider-Man: Homecoming, is the uncle of one Spider-Man, Miles Morales.
Aaron Davis, known as Prowler, has not appeared in any other Spider-Man movie or MCU project. He appeared briefly in the movie Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, but the movie did not explain his origins, whether from the MCU or another universe.
From the concept image, he could be from the MCU. The Spider-Man 4 movie may be an opportunity to reintroduce the character of Aaron Davis aka The Prowler.
Presenting The Prowler as Spider-Man’s next adversary gives Spidey a chance to face a street-level foe that he hasn’t faced in a long time. And this could be the right choice for an enemy in Spider-Man 4.
9. Morlun
One of the evil characters that could appear as a villain in Spider-Man 4 is Morlun. Sony has introduced the Spider-Verse movie series, while the MCU is starting to explore multiple realities. This opens up the opportunity to present Morlun as an enemy in the next Spider-Man movie.
In the comics, Morlun is the main enemy for Spider-Man and all Spider-People, who are vampires that target Spider-Totems from different universes to absorb their powers and end their lives.
With all the possibilities, including the multiverse, Marvel Studios has the opportunity to present the biggest threat Peter Parker has ever faced in his life. It could also be an opportunity to introduce other characters, such as Miles Morales who is reportedly getting a live-action movie.
8. Black Cat
Actress Felicity Jones played Felicia Hardy, known as Black Cat, in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Although there were plans for a solo movie about Black Cat, Sony canceled the project and did not introduce Felicia’s character as Black Cat.
Many fans were disappointed, but the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) could fix that by presenting Felicia as a villain in Spider-Man 4. Marvel Studios could introduce Felicia as Peter Parker’s lover, similar to the comic version, after Doctor Strange erased everyone’s memories of Peter, including MJ and Ned.
Marvel Studios has the potential to develop a story about Felicia Hardy that is in line with the comics or games, where she is forced to become a villain. This would definitely give Peter Parker a complex moral dimension and make his character development more interesting.
7. Jackal
The Jackal, originally named Professor Miles Warren, is a brilliant genetic scientist. He transforms himself into a villainous figure to hunt down Spider-Man. His grudge against Spider-Man arose because he held the hero responsible for the death of his niece, Gwen Stacy.
The MCU has yet to introduce the character of Gwen Stacy, but could present a new version of Miles Warren similar to Doctor Otto Octavius from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies or Doctor Curt Connors from The Amazing Spider-Man. Marvel could create a story where Miles Warren plays a professor in Peter’s class.
Miles Warren underwent a life change before becoming evil. If Miles Warren appears in Spider-Man 4, the MCU will have the opportunity to introduce Ben Reiley and present a modified Clone Saga storyline. Thus, Spider-Man’s story in the MCU will be more developed and complex.
6. Smythe
Aside from Morlun and Black Cat, there is one villain who might be a good fit to appear as a villain in Spider-Man 4: Smythe. In the Marvel Universe, there are many genius characters, and one of them is Alistair Smythe. Unfortunately, he uses his intelligence to commit crimes. One of his actions was to create special technology to kill Peter Parker.
Smythe is the creator of the robots called Spider Slayers that he uses to chase Spider-Man. Smythe has a story that can make fans feel sympathy for him. He suffered from an emotional breakdown due to the abuse he experienced from his family, especially his father. Smythe also became an evil person to prove his power.
In Spider-Man 4, Smythe could emerge as an antagonist that brings drama. Peter can point out the similarities in their sufferings and help Smythe realize the mistakes he has made. With the potential to change for the better, Smythe might be transformed into a hero by the end of the movie.
5. Venom
The next evil character that may appear as a villain in Spider-Man 4 is Venom. Fans have long been looking forward to a showdown between Spider-Man and his nemesis, Venom, just like in the comics.
That hope finally emerged after the events in the movie Spider-Man: No Way Home. In the post-credit scene, Eddie Brock experiences a universe shift from Sony to Marvel, as he reads the news about Spider-Man.
Eddie has moved on to the world of the MCU, but has yet to meet Spider-Man and other superheroes. Spider-Man 4 could be the moment for their meeting. Although Eddie returns to Sony’s world, some of the Venom Symbiotes remain in the MCU.
This Symbiote could merge with Spider-Man, making him the new host. Eddie may return to save Peter Parker, while another possibility is that the Symbiote joins forces with Mac Gargan, becoming the MCU’s version of Venom.
4. Mac Gargan/Scorpion
One of the villains that may appear in the next Spider-Man 4 movie is Mac Gargan, also known as Scorpion. Mac Gargan, played by Michael Mando, first appeared in the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. Despite being a classic villain, his existence is often forgotten.
As a member of The Vulture’s team, Gargan expressed his desire to hunt down Spider-Man after being captured. Marvel Studios could potentially utilize his character as a villain in Spider-Man 4, especially since we haven’t fully seen what Scorpion is capable of.
Marvel has to make sure its characters make a significant impact. Mac Gargan, who wants revenge on Spider-Man, is seen inviting Vulture to work together at the end of the movie. With the presence of Symbiote in No Way Home, there is a possibility that Mac Gargan could become Venom in the MCU, just like in the comics.
3. Doppelgangger
Doppelganger is one of the interesting villains that could appear in Spider-Man 4 and become a new threat that Spider-Man has never faced before.
In Spider-Man’s adventures in the MCU, he has fought various villains, including Thanos. However, there is potential to bring in new unique villain characters, such as the Doppelganger, an evil version of himself. The Doppelganger is a terrifying creature with eight arms, created by Magus, the evil Adam Warlock.
Magus creates evil versions of Marvel superheroes, including Spider-Man, known as Doppelgangers. First appearing in Infinity War, Doppelganger became a subordinate of Carnage and Shriek in the Maximum Carnage story.
He has sharp spider webs and six times the strength of Peter Parker. With the MCU starting to introduce horror elements, the Doppelganger could be an interesting addition to Spider-Man 4.
2. Hobgoblin
Aside from Venom, fans are also looking forward to Hobgoblin’s appearance as one of the villains in Spider-Man 4.
There has been a lot of speculation about the Hobgoblin’s appearance after a concept image circulated showing Ned Leeds behind his mask. In the image, the Hobgoblin is seen using a flying device and throwing pumpkin bombs like the Green Goblin has. In the comics, Hobgoblin is known as one of Spider-Man’s most fearsome enemies.
Interestingly, the person behind the Hobgoblin figure turned out to be Ned Leeds, a close friend of Spider-Man, who was influenced by the original Hobgoblin and believed himself to be a villain.
After Peter Parker asks Doctor Strange for help to make everyone forget about him, MJ and Ned no longer recognize Peter. This provides an opportunity for the original Hobgoblin to take control of Ned and convince him that he is the villain, which could be an emotional moment for Peter.
1. Knull
One interesting villain that could appear as a villain in the last Spider-Man 4 movie is Knull, the Symbiote God who will debut in Venom: The Last Dance.
In the comics, Knull is an ancient entity that existed before the Marvel universe, as well as the creator of the first Symbiote. He is also the creator of the Necrosword sword in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Knull has the power to defeat Celestials with his sword. While it may be too soon to introduce him as an enemy in the MCU after his presence in Venom 3, this character could appear in Spider-Man 4. In the MCU’s plan to replace the main antagonist in the next Saga, Knull could be an interesting option.
Knull’s presence provides an opportunity for Sony and Marvel Studios to work together to take on Knull and his army of Symbiotes.
Spider-Man 4 has a lot of potential to develop future Spider-Man storylines within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) or the MCU storyline itself. The good news is, we can be sure that this movie project is heading in a positive direction.
Recently in his latest interview, Tom Holland gave a leak about the development of the draft script for Spider-Man 4. This means that we can assume that this film will actually materialize after the uncertainty about the news.
