Here's a first look at the movie Karate Kid: Legends that circulated on social media after Entertainment Weekly released it.

Thanks to the first information from Entertainment Weekly, we now get an idea of how the character interaction Karate Kid: Legends. Entertainment Weekly itself has shared the first look of Karakte Kid: Legends on its website.

Karate Kid is a classic movie that first aired in 1984. At the time, the lead actor was Pat Morita, who played Mr. Kesuke in Karate Kid parts I, II, and III, as well as in The Next Karate Kid which was released in 1994.

The franchise slept for a while before being revived with a reboot in 2010. The film tells the story of Dre Parker (Jaden Smith), a kid who moves to China and learns kung fu from Mr. Han (Jackie Chan).

Although the reboot film was a financial success and received positive feedback, plans to make a sequel never materialized. After that, the world of Karate Kid returned to its roots through the popular series Cobra Kai on Netflix, which brought back Ralph Macchio and William Zabka as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence.

Photos from Entertainment Preview 2025 are now circulating widely on social media. Jackie Chan remains the main star in this action drama film. In the first trailer, Jackie Chan looks older with greying hair, but his pose and charisma remain just as dashing.

It is known that he is still loyal to not using stuntmen. While filming the movie Panda Plan, the 70-year-old fainted due to a risky fight scene. In Karate Kid: Legends, Jackie Chan will act alongside Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang, and Joshua Jackson.

Karate Kid: Legends tells the story of Li Fong who is preparing for a martial arts tournament. He receives intensive training from Mr. Han. However, the elderly Mr. Han felt unable to continue his training, so he enlisted the help of Daniel LaRusso, Mr. Miyagi’s former student.

The movie is also a family drama, where Li Fong, a girl from Beijing, China, tries to meet her mother who is now working as a doctor in America. Li Fong had a childhood full of hardship and drama. Li Fong’s life was greatly shaken after his mother left.

The movie will be under the direction of Jonathan Entwistle. In an interview with Weekly Entertainment, he expressed his high hopes for Ben Wang. “We need someone who speaks Mandarin, is good at martial arts, and has great acting talent.

This combination is very hard to find, but Ben Wang has it all,” he said emphatically. Ben Wang is a young actor who previously appeared in the movie American Born Chinese.

Karate Kid: Legends is scheduled to air in May 2025.
