Detective Conan The Million-dollar Pentagram Synopsis
This movie tells the story of Kaito Kid who intends to steal a pair of wakizashi swords. These swords are not ordinary, as they are linked to Toshizo Hijikata, the deputy commander of the Shinsengumi, and are kept in a warehouse in Hakodate.
The police who learned of the plan became suspicious of Kaito Kid because of his unusual behavior. Usually, he would aim for big gems, but this time he targeted a sword instead.
Meanwhile, a kendo tournament took place in Hakodate. Heiji Hattori and Soji Okita are participating in the event, so Conan Edogawa, Ran Mouri, and Kazuha Toyama come to lend support.
At one point, Heiji spotted the disguised Kaito Kid and chased after him as he fled to the rooftops. Heiji managed to reclaim one of the stolen swords and used it to fight against the thief.
Although Heiji managed to suppress Kaito Kid with his sword skills, the thief managed to escape with one of his swords. He later handed over the salvaged sword to the police.
The problem doesn’t end there. The adventure of Conan, Heiji, and friends becomes even more mysterious when the body of a murdered man is found with a cross-shaped wound on his chest, which then makes them suspicious of Kaito Kid.

The movie Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram made its debut on April 12, 2024 and set a new record at the Japanese box office.
As the 27th installment of the famous Detective Conan franchise, the film has attracted 9.77 million viewers as of May 27, 2024 and is now the 12th highest-grossing Japanese film in local box office history. For six consecutive weeks, the movie has been at the top of the box office in Japan.
The franchise has consistently launched one movie every year, and for the most part has never disappointed its fans.
According to Screen Daily, the movie Detective Conan: The Million-Dollar Pentagram debuted at the top of the box office with US$22.2 million in revenue from 2.27 million tickets sold during its first three days of screening, making it the best opening in franchise history.
The movie that previously held the series record and was the first Conan movie to earn more than 10 billion yen was Detective Conan: Black Iron Submarine, which was released last year and earned a total of 88.2 million dollars.
