The latest news about the villains in Spider-Man 4 is starting to catch the attention of Marvel fans. Daniel Richtman via Patreon revealed that the initial script for Spider-Man 4 originally included two villains we already know.
Spider-Man 4 is scheduled to be released on July 24, 2026, but Marvel Studios is facing some obstacles in producing this film. Destin Daniel Cretton was appointed as the director, but problems in the development of the movie have hampered the process to date.
Marvel is now under pressure to bring something exciting to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Especially, considering that Spider-Man 4 is highly anticipated by fans after the success of the previous three films.
1. DanielRPK Reveals 2 Villains in the Initial Script of Spider-Man 4 Movie
One of the major challenges that Spider-Man 4 is facing is the script, which is yet to be finalized. Earlier, there was news that an initial attempt at writing the script was rejected.
It’s still unknown exactly what went wrong with the first script, but some information about Marvel’s plans for Spider-Man 4 has started to come to light.
Daniel Richtman revealed that the Marvel team is currently in the process of rewriting the script after Kevin Fiege rejected the initial version. However, he confirmed that the original script included the characters Scorpion and Shocker.
“They’re still in the process of rewriting the script for [Spider-Man 4]. The initial version before the changes included Scorpion and Shocker,” said Richtman aka DanielRPK. Unfortunately, there is no further information on who will replace these two characters.
The fact that both characters are still in the script shows that they are still in the minds of Marvel’s creative team. While it is unclear whether they will be the main villains in Spider-Man 4, many fans would love to see characters like them return at some point.
After the big events in Spider-Man: No Way Home, many fans want to take the story back to a simpler direction. This could open up opportunities for other heroes, such as Daredevil or The Punisher, to start getting involved in the MCU, which would further enrich the franchise.
2. About Shocker and Scorpion
Shocker and Scorpion are two classic villains in the Spider-Man story, and giving them a more prominent role in the movie could be an interesting decision, as they have not been fully explored on the big screen.
Even so, these two characters have appeared in the MCU version of Spider-Man, specifically in the movie Spider-Man: Homecoming. It’s possible that people have forgotten about them, as they were more of followers and supporting characters, with Shocker serving as Vulture’s right-hand man.
However, audiences often hoped to see Scorpion return, especially since he appeared in a scene at the end of the movie that strongly teased the presence of the Sinister Six. While Marvel ultimately didn’t go ahead with the plan, it’s possible that the idea in the canceled script could have brought back the idea of bringing back the Sinister Six.
