Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin) is reportedly not coming back as The Flash. And reportedly, it’s all legit now.
It is no secret that since the incident that featured a video of him appearing to choke a woman, actor Ezra Miller has been in the spotlight.
HNot only is he one of Hollywood’s brightest young actors, but he’s also one of the hottest at the moment. Because (technically) since 2016 through the movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he successfully played the legendary DC’s fastest superhero, Barry Allen aka The Flash.
Ezra Miller as The Flash
His portrayal of The Flash became even more beloved when Ezra Miller, as The Flash, finally made his full debut in the first DCEU team-up movie, Justice League (2017).
Based on this fact, it is not surprising that at that time many people felt impatient when they heard that Warner Bros. and DC would make Miller’s DCEU solo film project as The Flash.
But once again in the post-production process, the excitement for geeking out slowly started to fade. All because of the incidents described above and Miller’s “crazy” incidents in the past 2 years.
But despite this, fortunately ahead of the film’s release on June 16, 2023, Ezra’s mental state has improved and many fans/audiences loved both Ezra’s performance as The Flash and the entire movie.
Ezra really isn’t continuing as The Flash?
Based on the fact that I wrote at the end of the paragraph above plus, based on the ending and post-credit scenes of The Flash, no doubt many of us then believe that Ezra in the future will still be trusted by Warner Bros. to play the superhero nicknamed The Scarlett Speedster .
But it looks like our beliefs will not be a reality. Because as reported by Variety, DC Studios has decided not to use Ezra again as Barry Allen in future DC Universe film/series projects.
Justice League’s Entire Actor will be Recast
There are actually several reasons why this decision was made. But the point is that DC Studios does not want to be associated with Ezra anymore. Of course, this is due to all the controversies he has made in the past 2-2.5 years.
Secondly, DC Studios and Warner Bros. were disappointed with the mixed reception and of course the box-office total that The Flash got.
And thirdly once again this is based on the source, reportedly DC Studios bosses, James Gunn and Peter Safran will cast repeat all the superhero actors who were members of the Justice League first.
If so, then Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) and Jason Momoa (Aquaman) who play Wonder Woman and Aquaman respectively, will be replaced as well.
Which means that the movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom that we will see on December 20, 2023, will be the last time we see Momoa as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman.
But keep in mind this news is still not 100% legit. Even if it is legit, well let’s express our gratitude to Miller and the rest of the original Justice League DCEU actors.
