Netflix recently released the official first look for season 2 of one of their popular series, Squid Game. The phenomenal series by director Hwan Dong-Hyuk is set to return to the Netflix streaming platform with a brand new season.
After its release in September 2021, the series quickly gained attention from all over the world, even as far as Indonesia. With Squid Game’s incredible success, it’s no surprise that Netflix immediately gave the green light for another season.
To promote the second season of Squid Game, Netflix released a 12-second teaser that hints that the situations and threats that will arise in season 2 will be much bigger and more dangerous.
First Look Squid Game Season 2
In the short clip, Seong Gi-Hun is seen at the airport with his new look. Suddenly, he gets a call from a stranger who threatens to chase Gi-Hun because of the big plan he has.
However, on the other hand, Gi-Hun himself plans to reveal all the secrets behind the game system after successfully winning the game in the first season.
In the previous season, Seong Gi-Hun was one of the participants in a deadly game. However, of the many participants, only Gi-Hun managed to win the game and get the grand prize of cash.
However, he decided to use the money as revenge and expose the party responsible for the tournament or game.
Before what it is now, Squid Game was actually a series that was less popular in the market. Hwang had offered the series to various studios or production houses in 2009, before Netflix finally accepted Hwang’s idea and adapted it in 2019.
And quickly, Squid Game became a new phenomenon in the world. In fact, the series even spawned a controversial reality show called Squid Game: The Challenge. The series will be released this year.
