Paramount Pictures has officially announced the Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover project. This announcement was made during Paramount’s presentation at CinemaCon 2024.
During the presentation, Paramount revealed various details about their projects. Including plans to combine the two popular series in one movie.
In addition, The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Paramount Pictures has also agreed to make a new live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie with an adult rating.
Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover hints once revealed
Information about the collaboration between the two major series was revealed at the end of the movie “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”.
In one of the scenes after the movie ends, we see Noah Diaz interacting with the members of the Joe, following his adventures with the Autobots and Maximals against the threat of Unicron.
As it turned out, their efforts in fighting Unicron’s forces to protect the earth had come to the attention of the Joe members, who then expressed a desire to cooperate in the mission.
At CinemaCon 2024, Paramount Pictures announced that they are developing a Transformers crossover movie project.
Currently, the movie is still in development and there are no details regarding the release date, cast, or Transformers characters that will be involved in the movie.
The idea of combining two major franchises has been around for a long time, most notably seen in the 1980s with Marvel publishing comics that combined the two series.
At the moment, it has not been announced who will direct this crossover movie. However, Steven Spielberg will reportedly act as an executive producer.
Meanwhile, Steven Capple Jr, best known for his work on Rise of the Beasts, is potentially the front-runner for the director’s position. This comes after the announcement from the director about his plans to work on a new Transformers movie project after Rise of the Beasts.
Throughout its history, Transformers has been known to do unique and interesting collaborations, including with G.I. Joe. It will be interesting to see how the movie turns out.
