The sequel to Godzilla X Kong is coming after the two worked together on two movie projects in the MonsterVerse. They have found a director who will direct the movie. The director is a newcomer to the MonsterVerse.
The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter. According to the report, director Grant Sputore will be directing the Godzilla x Kong sequel.
Godzilla x Kong sequel with new director

Grant Sputore, who has directed several acclaimed sci-fi films such as the positively reviewed I Am Mother, is the man to lead the MonsterVerse forward.
It is not yet known how Grant Sputore will influence the franchise. As a new director in the world of these monsters, he has the opportunity to bring many fresh ideas in the future.
The MonsterVerse has five movies currently and already has four directors involved, such as Adam Wingard, Gareth Edward, Michael Dougherty, and Jordan Vought-Roberts. As such, Grant Sputore will be the fifth director in the MonsterVerse.
There is currently no information on how many movies Sputore will direct in the future. Adam Wingard has directed the last two movies in the MonsterVerse, and his latest movie, The New Empire, leaves the door open for a sequel.
Destoroyah could be Godzilla’s next enemy option

The movie Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire earned USD 567.6 million with a production cost of USD 150 million.
This success will most likely prompt the creation of a sequel that will feature the battle between the Titans, Godzilla, and Kong as the main focus of the story. However, the sequel movie also has the potential to bring in new elements that have never been seen before.
After Godzilla returned to the surface and Kong became the leader of the ape tribe on Hollow Earth, the story of the two Titans could be considered complete.
Therefore, Sputore needs to introduce a new threat that will force these two Titans or Kaiju to act again. Toho monsters like Gigan and Destoroyah, who have yet to make an appearance, could make for interesting new threat options.
