Horror Version of Aladdin Movie in the Works, Titled The Monkey’s Paw

Another one of our childhood characters will be turned into a horror version, Aladdin. The movie will be titled Aladdin: The Monkey's Paw.

As we all know, Aladdin is a very famous story from the 1001 nights collection, about the romantic love between Aladdin and Jasmine. But what if Aladdin comes in a horror version? The story of Aladdin with his magic lamp, will soon come in a horror version, this movie will be titled Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw.

This collaboration between Empire Studios, Every Entertainment, and 8th Law Pictures has given rise to an exciting project, offering a dark and supernatural interpretation of the story of a street thief in the city of Agrabah.

Aladdin: The Monkey’s Paw is the latest part of a popular trend in the movie industry, where classic Disney characters and stories become scary horror movies. Previously, audiences have seen the likes of Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, Mickey’s Mouse Trap, and Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare.

Launching Deadline, in the official synopsis of this film, offers a pretty gripping premise:

A modern young man named Aladdin living in London receives an artifact in the form of an ancient monkey claw that is said to have the ability to fulfill anyone’s wish. However, it turns out that there are very costly consequences every time someone makes a wish. As Aladdin’s friends begin to fall victim to the curse, Aladdin must face off against an increasingly powerful force of evil and a demon that lives off every wish made.

Bradley Stryker, who directed Terrifier 3, will direct this horror adaptation of Aladdin. In this project, he wants to highlight the darker side of human desire, not only to scare, but also to stir the emotions of the audience.

In addition to directing, Stryker will also serve as one of the actors in the movie, along with Nick Sagar, Ricky Norwood, and Montana Manning. Charley McDougall will write the script, while Jamie McLeod-Ross, Nick Sagar, and Bradley Styker act as producers.

McDougall revealed that the creative team had the intention to explore the personal aspect of the horror genre. They wanted to bring fear not only from a physical perspective, but also the psychological impact of human desire.

McDougall explains that this story has haunted them for a long time and now they are ready to reveal it. This project is not just another horror movie, but their attempt to build a world with an iconic concept.
