Since the announcement that Blake Lively would be playing Lily Bloom in January 2023, many have expressed criticism of director Justin Baldoni’s choice. They argue that Blake Lively, who is now 35 years old, is considered too old to play a character who is supposed to be 22 years old.
Nonetheless, It Ends With Us succeeded in making Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds the first married couple to take the top spot at the US box office. Previously, this feat was achieved by Bruce Willis and Demi Moore 34 years ago.
