Jackie Chan Rush Hour. Yes, this Hong Kong actor is very successful in Hollywood action comedy films. In this trilogy of films he acted with the cool black comedian, Chris Tucker (Jackie Brown).

Their unique yet fitting acting and chemistry is undoubtedly a major factor in the success of the trilogy. Individually, both Jackie and Tucker’s performances are equally great.

Then the plot of the three films is very simple, fun, and of course really exciting. Now with all these factors, it is not surprising that this film trilogy is one that we still often repeat watching until this moment.

Jackie Chan Doesn’t Like Rush Hour

However, who would have thought that Jackie Chan didn’t like Rush Hour? Yep I’m not surprised if you now feel really surprised after reading it?

But as reported by ScreenRant, this is in fact the case. So why did the man who played Police Inspector Lee dislike the three movies he starred in?

Significant Cultural Differences

Still from the same source, Chan says he doesn’t like it because of the significant cultural differences.

Specifically, Chan doesn’t understand the humor in his very American movies. According to him, the humor used is very different from what he or his Mandarin films show.

Yes, in other words, it’s too joking and that’s it guys, the American style of humor. Whereas as we know Rush Hour essentially emphasizes the drama and action aspects.

Thought It Wouldn’t Hit

Now because of his dislike, it’s no wonder that Jackie thinks that his first movie will not be a success. He also thought the same when the sequel, Rush Hour 2 (2001) was released.

But the fact is that Jackie’s assumption/prediction was completely wrong. The two films were actually a big success at the box-office.

As reported from each of the three films’ Wikipedia pages, the three Rush Hour films have achieved box-office totals of hundreds of millions of dollars worldwide.

So if Jackie feels this way, why does the 68-year-old actor still want to be involved in his fourth movie?

The answer goes back to the box-office success of the three previous films. As Chan once said during an interview with IndieWire in 2012. Anyway, as long as he gets the “check,” he’ll be fine.

Well, it’s not wrong either guys. Who doesn’t want money, right? Now what do you think about this fact?
