Jackie Chan Involved in Spider-Man: Brand New Day Through His Stunt Team

The actor and action movie icon confirmed that his stunt team, Jackie Chan Stunt Team, will contribute to the action scenes in the latest Spider-Man movie.
The presence of Chan and his team certainly added to the audience’s enthusiasm for the quality of the fight scenes that would be offered. In an interview with Chinese media outlet HK01, Jackie Chan shared his experiences while visiting the filming location in London.
He recounted, “I went to London to hold a meeting and review the filming location. The Jackie Chan Stunt Team was busy working on the Spider-Man movie, and I acted as their action director. I watched their rehearsals, and the director was very enthusiastic when he saw me.”
This statement immediately sparks our imagination about how Chan’s unique style will collaborate with Spider-Man’s actions.
Interestingly, in Brand New Day, there are other characters who have unique fighting styles, such as Punisher and Hulk. Their presence poses a big challenge for the Jackie Chan Stunt Team to create varied yet consistent choreography.
These differences in fighting styles allow the team to express their flexibility, while ensuring that each action scene flows smoothly and is easy for the audience to follow.
The involvement of this stunt team is actually not an unfamiliar sight for director Destin Daniel Cretton. They have collaborated before on the film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which received much praise for its action scenes, especially the fight scene inside the bus.
Based on this experience, it is not surprising that Cretton once again chose Jackie Chan’s team to handle the action scenes in Brand New Day.
