James Gunn recently shared additional information about the movie DC fans are eagerly awaiting, Superman: Legacy. Via Threads, Gunn shared a snippet of a storyboard that gives an idea of the film’s plans.
In the photo’s caption, Gunn wrote, “Maybe there are spoilers? Probably not.” “I’m constantly drawing Superman Legacy scenes and the storyboards are all over the place. This is one I just sent to my department heads to discuss the shot distances we’ll use.”
When a fan asked about the content of the image, Gunn added, “The camera moves backwards with the character. For me, the thick arrow shows the camera’s movement, while the thin arrow shows the subject’s movement.”
Production of Superman: Legacy Is Still In Progress
Although James Gunn is still keeping the plot of Superman: Legacy, the cast selection process has been underway in recent weeks following the actors’ strike.
Previous information announced that David Corenswet will play the lead role as the iconic superhero, with Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, and Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher. Anthony Carrigan, Isabel Merced, and Nathan Fillion will also appear as heroes Metamorpho, Hawkgirl, and Guy Gardner/Green Lantern.
Gunn also gave an update on Superman’s costumes and the film’s music. “Most of the costumes are done, but we’re still considering some elements,” the director said. “Most of the score, and probably the main theme, is written.”After a fan asked why the film’s composer hadn’t been officially announced, Gunn explained that he wasn’t sure if a deal had been struck.
“I need to check it out,” he said. “(And yes, I know that sounds crazy since most of the score is already written, but when you’re at the peak of inspiration, what can you do? I wrote most of Peacemaker and the whole of Creature Commandos before I had a firm deal!”)
Superman: Legacy is expected to hit theaters on July 11, 2025.
