DC Studios will reportedly work on a Jurassic League movie. A report from The InSneider states that DC Studios is working on an animated film. The movie will be based on the Jurassic League comic, which only consists of 6 issues and was released in 2022.
The movie will be about heroes and villains in the form of dinosaurs. James Gunn will be the producer, while Brian Lynch will write the script.
Brian Lynch himself has been involved in the production of movies. Such as Puss in Boots, Secret Life of Pets, Minions, and Minions: The Rise of Gru.
Jurassic League Movie for Kids’ Audiences
Based on the plot, the Jurassic League movie will probably be targeted at children, unlike the Batman and Superman versions which have a darker feel.
Interestingly, Lynch also served as a producer on The Lego Batman Movie, which is one of the most successful Batman movies.
The project has yet to reveal many details, and its official title. However, if you look at the illustrations, it is likely that Superman will be a Brachiosaurus, Batman an Allosaurus, and Wonder Woman a Triceratops.
According to Juan Gedeon, creator of the Jurassic League comic, in an interview in 2022, Batman was paired with the Allosaurus because the type of dinosaur strikes fear into criminals despite not having superpowers. In addition, the Allosaurus also has pointed horns on its head that are similar to Batman’s ears.
Juan Gedeon then added, “Meanwhile, Superman became a Brachiosaurus because “[he] is the pinnacle of goodness and strength, and he only fights when there is no other choice, so I wanted a herbivorous dinosaur that looks harmless but is sturdy and strong.” Brachiosaurus was the perfect choice. Brachiosaurus was the perfect choice.”
The animated film still doesn’t have an official release date, but it will likely be scheduled after Creature Commandos, the first animated film in the DCU, which will most likely be released this year, probably in the summer.
Meanwhile, for the new animated movie Jurassic League, we may have to wait until 2025 or so.
