The Trailer of Karate Kid: Legends Presents a Nostalgic Atmosphere

Here is the trailer for Karate Kid: Legends released by Sony Pictures. This trailer brings out the nostalgic atmosphere of two generations.

Sony and Columbia Pictures just released the official trailer for Karate Kid: Legends today, giving it enough time to pique the public’s interest before its spring release. The film will hit theaters on May 30, 2025. Karate Kid: Legends stars a young Ben Wang alongside the legendary Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, the crowd favorite Karate Kid.

The movie is under the direction of director Jonathan Entwistle, with a script by Rob Lieber. Production is managed by Karen Rosenfelt, while the executive producers are Jenny Hinkey and Ralph Macchio. Besides Wang, Chan, and Macchio, the rest of the cast includes Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen.

On the other hand, Daniel LaRusso has just finished his run on the Netflix series, Cobra Kai. The last season, which was divided into several parts, just released its second part in November.

Cobra Kai creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to revive the Karate Kid universe. “It’s a great honor for us to reintroduce the world of The Karate Kid,” they said in an official statement.

The trailer begins with Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) looking for Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). They both reminisce about Mr. Miyagi, whose picture is displayed on the wall.

Mr. Han said, “Our tradition is rooted in history. Kung fu. Karate. The tree grows strong.” This statement connects the two storylines-the classic version played by Macchio and the reboot starring Jackie Chan-as part of the same “tree”.

The story focuses on Li Fong (Ben Wang), a young man who learns martial arts from two legendary masters, Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso. Li not only faces obstacles in martial arts competitions, but also in everyday life.

One of the touching moments in the trailer is when Mr. Han reveals to Daniel that Li means the same to him as Daniel does to Mr. Miyagi. It connects generations and adds emotional depth to this new story.
