1. Official Release Date of Live Action Lilo & Stitch
Rising star Maia Kealoha has officially been cast as Lilo, along with other actors like Zach Galifianakis, Sydney Agudong, and Billy Magnussen. The character of Stitch will appear in CGI form.
WaltDisney’s official Twitter account has also shared a short video to promote the live action Lilo & Stitch movie. In the trailer, we only see Stitch running.
However, there is important information regarding the release schedule of this film project, which is on May 23, 2025. In addition, it is written that this film will only be shown in theaters. Initially, they did not plan for the Lilo & Stitch live action film project to be shown in theaters.
Disney originally planned to release the movie on the Disney + platform, but later decided to change the release format to a feature film, as they announced at the D23 event yesterday.
2. Competing with Other Blockbuster Movies
As we know, the summer of 2025 will have many blockbuster movies that will also be released, such as Thunderbolts, Jurassic World Rebirth, and even Superman.
In other words, it has to compete with a number of epic movies that fans have been waiting for. In addition to the many blockbusters that hit theaters in the summer, the movie will also face competition from Ballerina, Elio, and the live action remake of How To Train Your Dragon, which will be released in June.
Although the target audience for this movie is different, which is for families, the live action Lilo & Stitch still has to compete with various other family movies. Let’s wait for the latest news about this movie.
