Development of a live action Teen Titans is officially underway in the DCU. The Titans series was originally aimed at a more mature audience and focused more on superheroes who were in their 20s rather than teenagers.
It wasn’t until Dick Grayson restarted the team and brought the teenage heroes on board that the series started to get closer to the original concept of the Teen Titans.
With the DCU’s Teen Titans movie, a new story can begin with a line-up that features actual teenage heroes and focuses on some of the younger members.
The year 2023 marks the end of the DCEU that has been running for almost 10 years. The DCEU ending also marks the birth of the DCU that James Gunn produced.
This DCU is currently in the making, with the first movie featuring David Corenswet as the new Superman. However, Superman is only the beginning as there will be more DC heroes and villains coming to the big screen soon.
No Comment from Gunn on Teen Titans Live Action Project in DCU yet
Ana Nogueira, screenwriter of Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, is working on the script for a live action Teen Titans movie, reports The Hollywood Reporter. However, you should note that no director is currently set.
There has also been no comment from Gunn and DC Studios regarding this live action Teen Titans project.
But since early February, news of a Teen Titans movie has been circulating. We also don’t know who the Teen Titans members will be in the movie, as the movie will probably feature different members from the Titans series.
There are several upcoming DC Universe movies and series, as well as characters, that could connect with the Teen Titans movie.
One example is Damian Wayne, who will make his first DC Universe appearance in The Brave and The Bold, as he is one of the main characters in the popular Teen Titans comic.
