In 2019, Marvel Studios surprised fans by announcing a Blade project that would feature Mahershala Ali. When Marvel first announced the movie, Blade was set to release in 2023. However, the project has been continuously delayed until now.

1. Marvel Studios Delays Blade Movie, Canceled in 2025

However, a report from Deadline revealed that Marvel Studios has decided to cancel the screening of Blade in November 2025. There is no explanation as to the reason behind this decision.
However, during the gala premiere of MaXXXine, one of its stars, Mia Goth, who will play the villain Lilith, said that the delay was actually the best decision for the movie.
Mahershala Ali once expressed complaints regarding various reasons why the Blade film had not yet been produced, and he even threatened to resign from his role. However, after going through a negotiation process, Ali finally confirmed that Marvel would still play Blade in the reboot of the film.
Marvel Studios then released a new schedule for this film, which is in November 2025. Unfortunately, Marvel was forced to cancel the big plan again.
