The movie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will be one of the movies that fans are most looking forward to in 2024. The reason is obvious, as it will feature two of our favorite giant monsters, Kong and Godzilla.

However, in this movie, they won’t fight each other, but instead unite to face a more terrifying threat from a monster called the Scar King.

Interestingly, apart from these three monsters, the movie will also feature other monsters. What monsters will appear in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire besides Godzilla, Kong, and Scar King?

5. Warbat

Warbats made their first appearance in Godzilla vs. Kong (2021). Warbats are giant creatures that have bat-like wings. Yes, Warbats can fly and use their wings to explore areas that are hard to reach by other land monsters in The New Empire. In addition, Warbats also has extraordinary physical strength and fighting skills when dealing with other monsters.

The Warbat’s body resembles a dragon that is often depicted in legends. The origins and background of Warbats are still not clearly revealed. However, they are thought to have evolved in the Hollow Earth and grown large due to the energy present there. In the movie Godzilla vs. Kong, Warbats pose a threat to the Apex team.

As they followed Kong into the Empty World, a Warbat suddenly appeared and managed to destroy some of the team’s vehicles. Not just one, but two Warbats appeared at once. Luckily, Kong finally arrived and managed to kill one of the Warbats.

4. Leafwing

First appearing in the movie Kong: Skull Island, Leafwing or Pyscho Vulture also appeared in the comic Skull Island: The Birth of Kong comic related to the movie. Leafwing also made brief appearances in Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs. Kong. In fact, Leafwing is a creature native to Skull Island that lives in large groups.

In 2019, a large number of Leafwings chose to leave Skull Island and fly to Boston in response to Ghidorah’s call. Leafwings are bat- or pterosaur-like creatures that have long beaks used to catch prey.

Another interesting thing is that the Leafwing’s body color is yellowish green, so they can disguise themselves as trees.

Although Leafwing are not very aggressive, they are still dangerous aerial predators. They usually spend their time flying in search of prey and resting together at high altitudes.

3. Rock Critter

Rock Critters made their first appearance in Godzilla vs. Kong. According to artist Ken Barthelmey, these creatures were not given official names during the production of Godzilla vs. Kong, so the staff decided to refer to them as Rock Critters. This name was also used in the art book and exhibited in Godzilla Interception Operation Awaji.

Rock Critter is a creature that can disguise itself perfectly among the rocks within Hollow Earth. Their shape is inspired by crabs, with the addition of claws that can extend from their shells. Their ability to blend in with their surroundings helps them avoid predators.

However, it seems that the disguise was not very successful as one of the Rock Critters was eaten by another monster in The New Empire. Rock Critters are different from the other two species of crab monsters in the Monsterverse, who live on Skull Island.

One of them, Mantleclaw, appeared in the opening scene of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters episode 1, while a smaller creature – the Trabdoor Crab – appears in Netflix’s Skull Island cartoon.

2. Titanus Doug

Doug, first appeared in Godzilla vs. Kong. The monster will return in the sequel titled Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. He is a member of an unnamed reptilian species that lives in Hollow Earth.

However, in the audio description of Godzilla vs. Kong, it is revealed that Doug is actually Foetodon, a species that also appeared in the 2005 movie King Kong. It should be noted that the movie is part of Universal and is distinct from the Monsterverse.

Doug is a creature with a fat body and large green eyes. He also has short legs and is similar to the species of Hellhawks that live on Hollow Earth.

What sets Doug apart is that it has two spikes on its tail. It is likely that Doug was similar to Stegosaurus. Doug’s body is protected by thick skin like a crocodile’s when a threat comes.

Adam Wingard has confirmed that Doug will appear in the future. Of course, we can expect more information on this species as time goes on.

However, if we look at the size of Doug’s body, it seems that he is not a threat to big monsters like Kong or Godzilla. It seems that Doug can only prey on monsters that are smaller than him.

1. Bramble Boar

Bramble Boar is a monster that first appears in Monarch: Legacy, in episode 9 to be precise. He is often seen roaming the same Hollow Earth that Cate, May, and Shaw explore at the end of episode 8.

Although not as large as other Titans, the Bramble Boar Titan is still a serious threat to humanity, especially to those without weapons.

The Bramble Boar is terrifying. Mainly because of its large teeth and fangs. In addition, it also has tusks or protruding bones on its back.

Although wild boars are usually omnivorous, it is unclear whether Bramble is too. With his body shape, he may be more likely to be a carnivore.

Although he only appears in a few scenes in Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Bramble Boar’s behavior reveals a lot about him. He initially stays away from Cate, showing his caution towards humans.

Then it changes its mind and attacks Cate, either to eat her or just to defend itself and its territory. However, humans have the power to scare and harm the creature.

Those are the 5 monsters that will appear in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. They are monsters with terrifying appearances, and they are definitely interesting to watch.
