Mortal Kombat 2 Movie Rating Revealed, as Brutal as the Game!

Mortal Kombat 2 has been rated for its movie, which will reportedly be as sadistic and brutal as the game.

The ratings for the Mortal Kombat 2 movie have been revealed. This news will ensure that the sequel will maintain the same level of brutality and blood as in the game. The movie continues the story from Mortal Kombat 2021, which successfully revived the cinematic franchise.

Although not much information has been shared regarding the storyline of Mortal Kombat 2, the ending of the first movie signaled that the Mortal Kombat tournament will take place in this sequel. Among the cast list of Mortal Kombat 2, there are famous names such as Karl Urban, Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, and Hiroyuki Sanada.

The Mortal Kombat movie which releases in 2021 takes a different step by not showing the tournament. Though an element that usually occurs, it is very important in the Mortal Kombat story. While this may disappoint some fans, Shang Tsung signaled that a bigger fight will appear at the end of the movie.

This threat that Shang Tsung made paved the way for the tournament that would eventually take place in Mortal Kombat 2. In Mortal Kombat 2, characters like Cole Young, Liu Kang, Sonya Blade, Jax, and Raiden will return to fight.

Interestingly, they will also be accompanied by fan-favorite character, Johnny Cage, who will be played by Karl Urban.

The battles they will face in Mortal Kombat 2 will not be easy. The first movie had introduced several villains from the Mortal Kombat universe, such as Shang Tsung, Sub-Zero, Goro, and Mileena. However, the sequel will also introduce new characters, including Baraka and Shao Khan, the strongest enemy in Outworld.

According to information from FilmRatings.com, the movie Mortal Kombat 2 has been rated R. This rating is very reasonable, due to the presence of bloody violence, gore elements, and the use of harsh language. The films in the Mortal Kombat franchise are inspired by the fighting video game of the same name, which is known for its extreme violence and brutal killings.

This rating continues the existing trend of the previous film released in 2021, while both live-action films from the ’90s received a PG-13 rating. With the R rating given to Mortal Kombat 2, we can be sure that the various battles between all these characters will be filled with blood and violence.

The 2021 release of Mortal Kombat may have had some inconsistent moments, but the movie was still very entertaining. Hopefully, Mortal Kombat 2 can expand on the storylines already established in the first movie and feature more fights between iconic characters.

Adding tournaments in Mortal Kombat 2 will certainly increase the tension significantly, so it’s great that the movie will get an R rating. Without the abundance of violent action, Mortal Kombat wouldn’t feel the same, so giving an R rating is the right decision for Mortal Kombat 2.
