10. A Quiet Place: Day One
This latest horror movies releasing in 2024 is a prequel to A Quiet Place. Originally, A Quiet Place: Day One will be released on March 31, 2023. However, due to delays in the production of this film, the release schedule had to change several times, and finally Paramount plans to release this horror film on June 28, 2024.
For the record, this is not a sequel to the previous two movies, but a prequel that tells the story of the beginning of the alien invasion on Earth.
The movie will also tell the story of a group of survivors, who must try to adjust to their lives when aliens with acute hearing appear. They must live in silence and use sign language to communicate.
In this movie, there is no return of the old cast from A Quiet Place. Instead, there will be new cast members like Lupita Nyong’o, Djimon Hounsou, and Alex Wolff.
Initially, Jeff Nichols was to direct the movie, but he decided to step down due to creative differences. Therefore, Michael Sarnoski then replaced him as the director of this movie. John Krasinski and Scott Beck are the scriptwriters of this movie. Although no longer cast in this movie, John Krasinski is still involved in the production of this movie.
9. Return to Silent Hill
The next horror movies of 2024 comes from the Silent Hill Franchise. The Silent Hill franchise is currently coming back to life after being neglected for quite some time. However, not only is there a game, but the movie is also in the process of being made.
The latest movie in development is titled Return to Silent Hill, which tells the story of a character named James whose life is shattered after his relationship with his girlfriend ends abruptly. At that moment, James finds a mysterious letter inviting him to return to Silent Hill.
James decided to go to Silent Hill in search of the woman he cared so much about. However, the town feels all too familiar to James. As it turns out, the town has an evil force that is ready to haunt those who come.
The character of James (Jeremy Irvine), a famous actor who has been cast in many projects such as War Horse and Fallen. Meanwhile, Hannah Emily Anderson will play his female character.
Christophe Gans will direct the film and it will be released on April 26, 2024. This horror movie is inspired by the story of Silent Hill 2, but will offer new elements that will make it more interesting.
8. Beetlejuice 2
After more than 30 years, we will finally see the sequel to Beetlejuice. Imagine, the first Beetlejuice movie was released in 1988, while the sequel will be released on September 6, 2024.
Tim Burton is back as the director for this movie. In addition, Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, who were the two lead actors in the first movie, will also return to play roles in the sequel.

4. Alien: Romulus
The movie Alien: Romulus is set in the same universe as the previous Alien films. The movie will take place in between the first and second Alien movies.
For fans who have forgotten, the first Alien movie was directed by Ridley Scott in 1979. It ended with Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) defeating a xenomorph and using an escape pod and cryogenic sleep to return to human civilization.
Seven years later, James Cameron continued the story with Aliens, which follows Ripley on a mission to investigate a xenomorph attack on a distant space colony.
Whether Alien: Romulus specifically deals with the events involving Ripley or the events of the previous two films remains unknown. Unfortunately, James Cameron and Ridley Scott will no longer be directing Alien: Romulus. Instead, Fede Avariez will direct the movie.
Some of the actors who will appear in the movie include Isabela Merced, Cailee Spaeny, Archie Renaux, and David Johnsson. However, information about the characters they play is still unknown.
To be sure, actors like Sigourney Weaver will not appear in this movie. Perhaps she will only appear as a cameo. If there is no change in plans, the movie Alien: Romulus will be released on August 16, 2024.
3. The Watchers
The Watchers is a horror film adaptation of A.M. Shine’s novel of the same name. The story will follow the journey of a character named Mina, who is 28 years old, as she travels to rural Western Ireland. When Mina’s car suddenly breaks down, she is forced to go on foot in search of help. However, while in a dark forest, a strange woman screams and forces Mina to rush into a bunker.
Inside, he encountered three people he didn’t know and who looked very scared. They were left trapped there with the door locked. They were like animals imprisoned in a zoo.
There were some strangers watching them from outside the bunker. To make matters worse, Mina had no idea what these people wanted, or what would happen if those trapped didn’t get out of the bunker soon.

2. Lisa Frankestin
Lisa Frankenstein is a comedy horror film that will be released on February 9, 2024. The film, directed by Zelda Williams, stars Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse.

The movie is a Cody and Mason Novick production, with Jeff Lampert as executive producer and Michelle Momplaisir, Focus Features’ Vice President of Production and Development, as creative executive.
Lisa Frakenstein will compete with several other movies when it releases in February, such as Madame Web, Bob Marley: One Love, and Argylle.
1. Night Swim
In early 2024, we will be able to see a horror movie made by James Wan (Atomic Monsters) called Night Swim.
The story centers on a family moving into a new house that has a neglected swimming pool behind it. The family intends to repair and use the pool.
However, after they remodel this swimming pool, horrific terrors begin to emerge. The movie will be rated PG-13, which means it can be watched with the family.
Interestingly, this movie was not produced by Atomic Monsters itself, but also involved Blumhouse production in its making. The movie is also an adaptation of a short film of the same name released in 2014, which was directed by Bryce McGuire.
