The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Paramount Pictures has agreed to make a new live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.
According to the article, the movie will adapt the comic series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin published by IDW Comics. It is planned that the movie will have an adult classification or R-rated, a new step for the TMNT franchise.
This movie will be the first entry in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series to be rated for adults. Tyler Burton Smith will handle the screenwriting, while Walter Hamada will produce the movie through production company 18hz.
This comic adaptation of The Last Ronin is a story created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The comic has been published between 2020 and 2022, achieving great success. Thanks to its popularity, a new story has received development for its sequel, TMNT: The Last Ronin II – Re Evolution.
The Last Ronin tells the story of the remaining Ninja Turtle who chooses to resign after losing his three brothers and their mentor, Splinter.
