Horror movie Orphan 3 has now received official permission for production, with original star Isabelle Fuhrman returning to the role.
Orphan (2009) tells the story of a couple who decide to adopt a nine-year-old girl. But it turns out that this girl has problems and a dark and mysterious background.
Subsequently, the movie released a prequel in 2022, titled First Kill, which depicts Esther’s escape from a psychiatric facility in Estonia and her journey to America disguised as the missing daughter of a wealthy family.
1. Orphan 3 Movie to Feature Isabelle Fuhrman Again

The third movie in the franchise has now been officially greenlit, and the original cast will return. According to a report from Variety, Orphan 3 has been greenlit. Isabelle Fuhrman will return as the lead star, writer David Coggeshall, and director William Brent Bell will also return.
Norman Golightly, co-CEO of Dark Castle Entertainment, said that Dark Castle is excited to present a thrilling new chapter in the Orphan story. With the success of the previous two movies and the compelling storyline, they believe that this third movie will be an exciting watch, both for loyal fans and new audiences who want to join in.
Despite getting permission from the studio, there is still little important information that they have shared, especially regarding the storyline of the movie. However, the director revealed that Esther’s 30-year life journey has never been properly explored.
This is what makes it likely that Orphan 3 will feature a story about that time period. So, Orphan 3 will probably feature a story about Esther’s life during those 30 years.
Even so, there is still no clarity regarding which aspects will be explored more deeply in the story later. Bell also signaled that Orphan 3 will offer more surprises in the storyline.
2. Potentially Return to Financial Success

With Isabelle Fuhrman returning as Esther, and with the support of First Kill’s screenwriter David Coggeshall and director William Brent Bell, Orphan 3 has the potential for continued financial success. The previous two films have earned a total of $125 million worldwide.
However, it’s unclear whether the franchise can stand up to mixed reviews, as the first two films were criticized for being overly formulaic and uninteresting. If Orphan 3 wants to improve its image, it may need to go beyond those limitations and deliver a fresh story and more in-depth character development for Esther.
