Pom Klementieff, the actress best known for her role as Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), is in talks to join the DC Universe (DCU).
James Gunn also expressed his desire to continue working with the actors he has worked with for almost a decade at Marvel.
Rumors of Pom Klementieff Joining DCU
Pom Klementieff confirmed at San Antonio’s Superhero Comic Con that she is in talks with James Gunn about possibly landing a role in the DCU. When asked which character she would like to play in the DCU, Klementieff gave an answer.
“Do you really think I’m going to answer that question? I just want to keep working with James, so we’ll keep looking for ways to make that happen. Yes, we’ve talked about one specific character (in the DCU), but I can’t talk about it right now.”
Previously, there were rumors that Klementieff would appear in director Gunn’s Superman movie.
However, Gunn quickly denied the rumors via social media, insisting that Klementieff would not be joining the Superman project.
Gunn Prepares a role for Klementieff in the DC Universe
However, Gunn assures that he has one role in mind for Klementieff in the DCU. However, the role is not related to Superman.
Gunn expressed his satisfaction in working with Klementieff. It’s certainly no surprise that he’s looking forward to giving her a role in the DCU. In July previous year, Pom also revealed to The Movie Dweeb that the role she was discussing with James would focus on action.
“We’ve talked about it. There is one specific character that James Gunn has in mind. It will also be action-oriented.”
Although information about this role is still limited, fans of the DCU and MCU are excited to see Klementieff join the DCU.
With new leadership at DC Studios and great enthusiasm from fans, Klementieff’s addition to the DCU is expected to bring a new spirit and unique perspective as she has shown in her role as Mantis.
We still have to wait for an official announcement regarding the specific role Klementieff will play. But one thing for sure is that the collaboration between Gunn and Klementieff will be highly anticipated by fans of both franchises.
