The Punisher character in the MCU seems to have a bright future, as Marvel Studios plans to launch his own series. In addition, they also confirmed that the Punisher will appear in future MCU films and series.

1. Punisher’s future in the MCU is assured
As you already know, the MCU will release the Daredevil series: Born Again which is a reboot of the previously existing Daredevil series. In the promotional material released yesterday, it was seen that The Punisher will also be present in the series.
Regarding The Punisher’s presence in the MCU, Brad Winderbaum, who serves as the Head of Marvel TV, gave some good news about the character’s future in the MCU.
In Comicbook‘s PhaseZero podcast, Brad Winderbaum answered questions about the future of The Punisher in the MCU. Winderbaum stated that the MCU already has plans for the character.
“You must feel the same way. He’s amazing in his role, and I’m excited to see you guys watch him in this series (Daredevil: Born Again). Of course, there are future plans that Marvel has prepared for him after this.”
While there is no certainty whether this character will appear in a series, movie, or other project, this news is certainly very exciting for Marvel fans who have long awaited the action of Frank Castle interacting with other MCU superheroes.
2. Jon Bernthal’s return as The Punisher
Previously, Jon Bernthal played Frank Castle, or as we know him as The Punisher, in 2015 in a series that aired on Netflix. His performance as The Punisher received a lot of praise, especially when he appeared in Daredevil Season 2 and became one of the antagonists for Men Without Fear.
Despite bringing The Punisher’s character to life so well, Netflix decided to cancel the second season of the series. The cancellation was not due to low ratings, but because in 2018, Disney officially acquired the rights to TV series featuring its superhero characters, so the series on Netflix had to stop.
After waiting for almost 10 years, Jon Bernthal is finally ready to return to the character of The Punisher in the series Daredevil Born Again which will air on Disney+ Hotstar.
