As we all know, Robert Downey Jr is also famous for his role as Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He played the iconic character Tony Stark for the first time in the Iron Man movie released in 2008.

Robert Downey Jr. once expressed the possibility of returning to the MCU. However, unexpectedly, the actor reappeared as Victor von Doom or Dr. Doom in Avengers: Doomsday.

Joe Russo previously revealed that if they want to present the character of Doctor Doom in the movie, they need the best quality actors from all over the world. This is because Doctor Doom is one of the most complicated and interesting characters in fiction.

During the San Diego Comic-Con, a man dressed in a green suit and wearing a mask advanced towards the stage. Carefully, the man removed the mask, revealing the face of Robert Downey Jr.

The first movie he will star in, Avengers: Doomsday, is scheduled to be released in May 2026. While the second movie, titled Avengers: Secret Wars, will air in May 2027.

Doctor Doom himself is a big villain in the MCU. The character change that Robert Downey Jr did then received great attention and enthusiasm from the public.

As we know, Robert Downey Jr chose to retire from his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man after Avengers: Endgame in 2019, where the character died sacrificing himself to save the universe.
