The Jurassic Park franchise adapts Michael Crichton’s 1990 novel of the same name. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the first movie was released in 1993 and became a popular culture phenomenon.

The franchise focuses on prehistoric animals resurrected through genetically engineered cloning technology, with theme parks and islands serving as the setting.

As for Jurassic World, the franchise is set in a dinosaur theme park called Isla Nublar. The park is built in an area that has previously been the site of the famous Jurassic Park. Scientists managed to bring dinosaurs back to life from fossils and make them a major attraction.

The stories in this franchise are about human attempts to control and manage living dinosaurs, which ultimately end in chaos and destruction when the dinosaurs escape or are released from their captivity.

Although the Jurassic World films didn’t receive the critical acclaim of Jurrasic Park in 1993, it was a tremendous commercial success.

Each movie in the series, namely Jurassic World, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Jurassic World: Dominion, have made over a billion dollars at the global box office.

However, Dominion is considered the lowest point in the franchise, with a 29% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The movie also won three Golden Raspberry Awards.
