Second Trailer of Trap Movie Showcases Josh Hartnett’s Unexpected Action

Here's a look at the second trailer for Trap, which shows Cooper, played by Josh Hartnett, in action.

Nearing its release date, Warner Bros released the second trailer of the movie Trap which features Josh Hartnett and his son, trapped along with many fans, 300 cops, and a serial killer in a music concert.

Apart from Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Shyamalan, Hayley Mills, Allison Pill, Marnie McPhail, and Vanessa Smythe are also cast in this movie.

After Ishana Night Shyamalan made her directorial debut with The Watchers back in June, it is now the turn of her father, M. Night Shyamalan, released his latest work through the movie Trap.

The story begins with Cooper (Josh Hartnett), a father enjoying time with his daughter, Riley, at a concert of pop singer Lady Raven, in the latest movie in the psychological thriller genre.

Cooper goes to the restroom leaving his daughter behind. He sees a lot of busy police and learns that they are looking for a serial killer known as The Butcher who was apparently at the concert.

Various scenes occur in sequence, starting with Cooper deliberately pushing a girl down the stairs and taking her to the medical room. In the room, Cooper uses the opportunity to take a handheld radio owned by a policeman.

Cooper tried to create chaos. He thought about setting off the fire alarm, but his plan was abandoned when his daughter approached him.

He also planned something using a frying pan after he managed to get into the employee area with the key card he stole.

There is also a scene where he calmly walks through a crowd of policemen while holding a coffee cup.

The trailer gives an indication that Cooper is a serial killer who is being chased by the police. However, it’s better not to rush to conclusions because extraordinary story surprises are a hallmark of M. Night Shyamalan’s storytelling style.

After directing Knock at the Cabin, M. Night Shyamalan tried something different with Trap.

Trap was a challenging project for everyone involved, including M. Night Shyamalan and Josh Hartnett who admitted that the movie took them out of their comfort zones.

Trap features a larger setting than M. Night Shyamalan’s previous works that often focused on smaller sets. You can check out the latest trailer before the film hits theaters in August.
