After achieving huge box office success in 2009, the Sherlock Holmes movie continued its story with a sequel released in 2011 titled Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. However, many found the sequel to be underwhelming, despite earning a whopping USD 543 million.

In an interview with The Playlist, actor Jude Law who plays John Watson, Holmes’ partner, gave an update on the Sherlock Holmes 3 project.
Jude Law explained that the script for Sherlock Holmes 3 has been completed. However, he admitted that he had not had time to read the script. According to Jude Law, the movie will again feature him and Robert Downey Jr. in the storyline.
In addition, the movie is also set to include elements of time travel, which has previously been speculated among fans.

The concept of Sherlock Holmes 3 dates back to 2011, long before A Game of Shadows was released. However, back then, the movie project faced various obstacles, including a change of writers.
