The lead actor of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Simu Liu, recently broke the news that Marvel fans have been waiting for. In an interview with Press Trust of India, Liu confirmed that the Shang-Chi sequel is in development and on track.
While there are still many details that cannot be shared, Liu confirmed that the project will definitely materialize, giving hope to long-waiting fans.
Awkwafina to Return in Shang-Chi Sequel
Liu stated, “Many things are out of my control, but this will definitely materialize. I’m very excited to be involved in this project again and I’m sure it will be something special. I really can’t say much more than that.”
His statement reflects how excited he is about Shang-Chi ‘s continued adventures in the MCU.
Aside from talking about Shang-Chi 2, Simu Liu also shared her experience working with Awkwafina and John Cena. Awkwafina, who co-starred in the first Shang-Chi movie, will be collaborating with Liu again in this sequel.
On the other hand, Liu praised the dedicated work of John Cena, whom he met when he was involved in the Barbie movie project. The experience of collaborating with both actors made a deep impression on Liu.
Liu stated that he and Cena take every scene they work on together very seriously.
“John Cena and I are really taking this seriously. We were very passionate during the preparation process, including all the choreography exercises in between shooting sessions. She is a true learner and I really appreciate the opportunity to work with her.” said Liu.
